Do Live Scan Applicants Need to be Fingerprinted by Law Enforcement?
Alive Scan is certified by the California Department of Justice (DOJ) for live scan digital fingerprinting as well as ink “hard card” fingerprinting. We are an authorized alternative to law enforcement fingerprinting in San Diego. Since California law enforcement no longer offer fingerprinting services, our facility is often referred to by local police departments and sheriff offices.
FD-258 “Hard Card” Ink Fingerprint Applicants
Live Scan applicants are required to be fingerprinted by an authorized livescan service provider in California. If you reside outside of California, you may need to submit a manual fingerprint card or “hard card”. If the fingerprints are required by another state or country, they will most likely require an FBI background via the old-fashion ink and fingerprint card. Alive Scan does provide this service along with the required form FD-258 “Hard Card”. Common “ink fingerprint” applicants include:
- Federal Employees – Government & Federal Jobs.
- Foreign Countries – For Visa Requirements, Teaching Abroad…
- Out-of-State Workers – Traveling Nurse, Insurance & Finance Brokers with clients in Florida…
